Meet the instructor

Yoga is an ancient science that disciplines the mind and the body. The practice combines strengthening and stretching poses with deep breathing and meditation exercises that leads to flexibility, increased energy levels and feelings of physical, mental and emotional well being.

Shivani Singh, the owner and instructor of ShivaniYoga has been teaching since 2013, is a skilled and highly experienced trainer, having taught different styles of yoga in many countries. Her practice can be described as an eclectic amalgam of her personal experiences which she uses to design programs to fit her clients' needs. She believes yoga is not a randomness of poses, rather a structured way to fuse physical movements with various breathing techniques. It helps reduce stress which is a leading cause for many health issues such as obesity, high blood pressure, depression and insomnia to name a few. Yoga helps strengthen the physical body and relax the mind which helps with concentration and focus. Through yoga we can replace old habits and unhealthy lifestyle patterns with new healthy habits. Practice yoga and bring about a change not in only your lives but also in the lives of those around you!

This Is My Story

I began my journey of yoga in 2008 when I moved from New York to India with my family. I found a deep connection to yoga in my very first class. I started yoga with a focus on 108 Surya Namaskars. With time and Practice and repetitions, this moving meditation led to many changes in all aspects of my life and overall health and at the same time my relationship with everything else around me.

To be a better teacher it is important to be a life long student. I continue to have a strong home practice and discipline at the same time learning styles of movements, arts and forms through dance and sports. I love to study science, different approaches to yoga practices and nutrition that makes yoga a complete life style practice. I continue to be a keen student by taking workshops and classes from master teachers around the world.

Who I Am.

I'm a mother turned yoga student and a yoga teacher through my passion and experiences. I enjoy spending time with my family and when I'm not on the mat, I love exploring the outdoors. I enjoy traveling and dwelling into the deeper connections of the mind and body.

My Mission.

I believe that yoga is a practice for everybody regardless of age, gender, and ability . Additionally, I provide an accesible and sustainable practice that will help you grow on a physical, intellectual, mental and spiritual level.

My Vision.

My vision is to empower people from all backgrounds to find their strength and voice in the hope that the practice of yoga will bring about a change in the world. The first change always begins with us.
